Mellor Country House has been a peaceful haven for almost 100 years—offering affordable countryside breaks to families and individuals facing challenging circumstances. But we can't do it alone.

We are a small, self-funded charity with no external backing, run entirely by volunteers. With just one year’s reserves, we’re facing rising costs—from vital fire and safety upgrades to ongoing repairs. While our volunteers have kept the décor fresh and welcoming, we’re now at a point where we must tackle major projects that require more significant funding.

Your support—whether as a donor, a volunteer, or a corporate partner—helps us keep this treasured retreat open for those who need it most.

How You Can Help

💛 Volunteer Your Time

Whether it’s an hour a week or a day each month, your time makes a difference. Volunteers help us with:

  • Housekeeping or gardening

  • Painting, decorating, and small repairs

  • Helping at events or fundraising campaigns

Why do people volunteer?
Some want to give back, others seek a sense of community, to learn new skills, or gain experience. Many of our volunteers say the “feel-good factor” of helping others is reward enough.

You can support Mellor Country House in lots of fun and meaningful ways:

  • Make a one-off or regular donation (Gift Aid can make your donation go even further!)

  • Leave a gift in your will or make a donation in memory of someone

  • Attend or help with our events like Annual Plant Sale or Christmas Tree Deliveries 

  • Host your own event—be it a sponsored walk, a bake sale, or even a custard pie fight!
